Atiku’s subsidy plan could revive fuel queues, weaken wage payments — Yilwatda

Nentawe Yilwatda, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), warned that former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s plan to restore the petrol subsidy could lead to a return of fuel queues and make it harder for governments to pay the minimum wage. Yilwatda emphasized that the removal of the subsidy had improved the finances of many state governments, allowing for increased federal allocations. He also noted that any plan to reinstate the subsidy should be carefully examined to prevent a return to past financial difficulties.
