Qatar's behind-the-scenes plan: Diomaye, Macky Sall and Karim Wade meet

At the funeral of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in Qatar, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, former President Macky Sall, and Karim Wade were simultaneously present, sparking speculation about a political alliance. Macky Sall, a candidate for UN Secretary-General, is to meet Diomaye Faye on Friday to secure Senegal's support. In return, he could lend his experience to Diomaye Faye's new party, launching on August 8, to help counter Ousmane Sonko and remain in power after 2029. Karim Wade, in exile in Doha, may also collaborate with Diomaye Faye for the 2027 local elections and the 2029 presidential election.
