Emir of Gumel dies at 84 after prolonged illness

The Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Sani III, has died at the age of 84 after a prolonged illness. He died while receiving treatment in Egypt, and the palace will announce burial arrangements later. Born on December 12, 1942, Sani III was the 16th Emir of Gumel and was known for his key contributions to public service before ascending the throne.
