Cervical cancer: Screening in Madinani costs between 3,000 and 25,000 CFA francs

At the Madinani Departmental Public Hospital, molecular HPV testing costs 3,000 CFA francs, while a cervical smear costs 25,000 CFA francs. Gynecologist Dr Assamoi Ado Justin says the prices can prevent women with limited means from accessing screening. Free or reduced-cost campaigns and referrals to the National Cancer Control Programme help patients obtain screening and care. A free campaign initiated by deputy mayor Ladji Konaté screened 1,000 women and identified three suspected cases.
