The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) announced the creation of a paramilitary guard to secure its mining operations, supported by American and Emirati investments. This unit, which will have between 2,500 and 3,000 members at its launch, is expected to be operational by December after six months of training. The goal is to reach over 20,000 members by the end of 2028 to strengthen investor confidence and state control over mining production.
