Does Russia offer African countries an equal partnership?

At the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, Vladimir Putin said Russia was a better partner for African countries than the West. He said Russian companies operate in Africa on an equal footing and accused Western countries of continuing to exploit the continent’s resources. Some African nations have recently turned to Russia for security assistance, while trade and economic ties are growing. The summit comes as Russia seeks support from the Global South against Western pressure over its war in Ukraine.
