Over 40,000 Displaced in Distress in Walikale: Report on Recent M23-FARDC Clashes

Over 40,000 displaced individuals are living in precarious conditions in Waloa Loanda, Walikale territory, after fleeing clashes between the AFC-M23 and FARDC. Violence erupted in Tushunguti, near the border of North and South Kivu, leading to a massive exodus towards Walikale. The displaced, mainly women and children, are seeking refuge in schools and churches, but the accommodation capacities are quickly overwhelmed.
