Kano Task Force Seizes 3.18 Million Suspected Pregabalin Capsules

Kano State’s task force seized about 3.18 million capsules suspected to be pregabalin from an apartment in Sabon Gari, less than 24 hours after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf launched the Rapid Response Squad. Acting on intelligence, officers arrested 34-year-old Gregory Ogbuji, who was allegedly linked to Seemark Pharma Ltd and charged under Section 249 of the Penal Code; another suspect remains at large. Task force chairman Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado called the seizure an important early result and said operational records indicate that about eight in every 10 drug-related operations in Kano involve people dependent on or abusing pregabalin.
