Females extend dominance in adult classes amid campaigns

Enrollment in adult education in Kenya rose by 18.8% in 2025, reaching 165,552 learners, with 61.2% being women. Nairobi recorded the highest increase with 34,506 learners, including 18,562 women. This rise is attributed to grassroots mobilization and the incorporation of literacy sessions into women's savings groups. The adult education program has also expanded its curriculum to include digital and financial skills.
