A Turkish drilling ship, the Cagri Bey, docked at the port of Mogadishu for Somalia's first offshore oil drilling project. The agreement, signed in 2024, grants the Turkish public energy company the right to explore three offshore blocks of approximately 5,000 square kilometers each. Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar stated that these operations represent Turkey's first deep-water drilling activities abroad.
