Nigeria: the 39 kidnapped students in Oyo State have been rescued

The 39 students kidnapped in May by Islamist militants in Oyo State, southwestern Nigeria, have been freed and are receiving medical care. Five of the seven abducted teachers were also rescued. Governor Seyi Makinde visited the military hospital where the former hostages are being treated, expressing relief. The survivors remain deeply traumatized by their captivity.
