Iraq ends international coalition against Daesh

Iraq announced the end of the international anti-Daesh coalition mission led by Washington, effective September 30. The Iraqi government claims it is ready to ensure its own security, stating that the coalition's presence is no longer necessary in the fight against Daesh. Baghdad also issued an ultimatum to militias to lay down their arms, while acknowledging that disarmament remains a significant challenge.
