Osogbo residents cry out as flood overtakes homes

Residents of Osogbo have raised concerns as rising waters from the Osun River flooded homes and communities, including Oke-Jetu, Baruwa, parts of Awosuru, and areas along the riverbank. Iya Ify reported that water entered her house around midnight, forcing her family to evacuate and pack their belongings. Adelaju Folarin expressed surprise at the flood's severity, noting it was the worst in over ten years, surpassing the 2019 flood. The flooding is attributed to changing rainfall patterns and global warming, with climate experts warning of increased heavy rainfall and flood risks.
