President Donald Trump informed top US lawmakers that hostilities in Iran had ended, following pressure to seek authorization for the conflict. In letters to House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate president pro tempore Chuck Grassley, he stated that there had been no exchange of fire between US forces and Iran since April 7, 2026. The hostilities, which began on February 28, 2026, are thus considered terminated.
