Nigeria: deadly attacks leave over 60 dead in the northwest

Deadly attacks by terrorist groups have resulted in over 60 deaths in northwest Nigeria. On Tuesday, 20 people were killed in the village of Erena in Niger State after armed men attacked several villages. Authorities attribute these raids to a bandit group known as Mahmuda, linked to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. As a result, at least 500 people have fled to the city of Yauri, seeking refuge in churches and schools.
