Sports Ministry Dismisses Claims of Suspension of FKF

Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya dismissed viral claims that the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) had been suspended as internal wrangles intensify. FKF president Hussein Mohammed also refuted the allegations, accusing a witch hunt against the federation's leadership. This follows FIFA's rejection of the FKF National Executive Committee's move to suspend president Dennis Gicheru and Abdullahi Yusuf Ibrahim, calling it unconstitutional. The federation is also battling financial impropriety allegations, including the alleged misappropriation of Ksh42 million meant for the African Nations Championship (CHAN), which led to a brief suspension of President Hussein Mohamed and two other officials.
