Abductions: Probe N145bn Safe Schools funds, SERAP tells Tinubu

SERAP has called on President Bola Tinubu to order an investigation into allegations that the N145 billion Safe Schools Initiative funds may have been diverted or mismanaged. The group cited over 600 pupils and teachers abducted in school-related attacks between March 2024 and May 2026, including a recent abduction in Oyo State. In a statement by Deputy Director Kolawole Oluwadare, SERAP urged the Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi and anti-corruption agencies to probe the fund utilization. SERAP warned that corruption in education security endangers children's right to education.
