About 500 displaced persons' houses burned in a fire near Kalemie

A fire destroyed over five hundred huts at the displaced persons' site in Mama Kasanga village, near Kalemie, on April 10. The fire was caused by a pot of oil that spilled while women were cooking. Although no human casualties were reported, many families are left homeless and urgently need humanitarian assistance.
