Insecurity gradually reducing in Nigeria, Kano lawmaker says

Abubakar Kabir Bichi, the lawmaker representing Bichi Federal Constituency, said insecurity in Nigeria is gradually declining, including on the Kaduna-Abuja road. Speaking Monday at the inauguration of the APC campaign council in Bichi ahead of the 2027 general election, he urged residents of Bichi and Kano North to support President Bola Tinubu and the party. Bichi said ongoing development projects in Kano State rely on cooperation between federal and state governments and support from the executive. Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo, said Nigeria was gradually recovering from its challenges.

Doha Process: In Rome, C64 Calls for Governance Provisions in Signed Protocols to Be Included in Inclusive National Dialogue

Meeting in Rome on October 26 and 27, 2026, opposition coalition C64 called for inclusive national dialogue to end hostilities in eastern DR Congo, saying there is no military solution to the crisis. It urged that all parties to the conflict take part and that the governance provisions in the Doha protocols be incorporated into the national dialogue. C64 also called for verifiable results from the Doha process, including a respected and credibly monitored ceasefire, civilian protection and humanitarian access, as well as implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2773.
