Access Bank Cameroon is participating in the 10th edition of the International Fair for Business, SMEs and Partnerships (PROMOTE 2026) from June 12 to 21, 2026 at the Yaoundé Congress Palace. The bank will present innovative banking solutions to support business growth and financial inclusion. Conferences are scheduled from June 15 to 20 on SME formalization and bankability. Its theme is 'Facilitating trade, stimulating growth and promoting financial inclusion'.

KRA unlocks tax breaks for Naivasha industrial park

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has designated the KenGen Green Energy Park in Naivasha as a customs-controlled area, unlocking tax breaks for businesses operating there. Small lenders given three more years to meet core capital rule

Struggling commercial banks have been given a three-year extension to raise their minimum core capital to Sh10 billion, moving the deadline from 2029 to 2032. National Treasury CS John Mbadi also cancelled the phased annual targets. This reprieves 23 small lenders that were below the required threshold. Banks failing to meet capital requirements risk being downgraded to microfinance institutions.
