Uganda-Boeing deal opens new contest for Dreamliner engines

Uganda Airlines committed to Boeing on June 10 for ten aircraft: four Boeing 787 Dreamliners, four Boeing 737 MAX 8, and two converted freighters. The Ugandan government will deposit $122 million on June 11. First deliveries are expected in 2027. A new contest over the engines for the Dreamliners is emerging behind the scenes.
