A plane crash in South Sudan resulted in the deaths of 15 people, including 13 South Sudanese and 2 Kenyans, after the aircraft lost contact with air traffic control. In Nigeria, 15 children were rescued following an attack on an orphanage in Kogi State, while 8 children remain missing. Additionally, in Chad, at least 42 people were killed in clashes between ethnic groups sparked by a dispute over a water well.
