On May 3, a police officer retrieved human remains from a crocodile following the disappearance of a 59-year-old businessman in Mpumalanga. His vehicle was found on a bridge, and investigators believe he was swept away by the current of the Komati River. The operation, led by Captain Johan Potgieter, resulted in the extraction of body fragments and six pairs of shoes from the shot crocodile. DNA tests will be conducted to confirm the identity of the remains.
