Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan stated in an interview with RT during her visit to Moscow in June 2026 that Russia wants to help Africa build a new world economic order. She emphasized that Tanzania-Russia relations, historically political, must now evolve into a strategic and sustainable economic partnership. The two countries have identified priority areas for cooperation: agriculture, mining, energy (including civil nuclear energy using Tanzania's uranium resources), health, education, and digital technologies. The visit comes shortly after President Hassan's meeting with Vladimir Putin.
