Alaafin threatens 15-year jail term for land grabbers amid violent attacks

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has warned individuals involved in land grabbing, especially those using violence to extort fees from legitimate property owners. This warning follows violent attacks against residents of 12 villages in the Oyo West Local Government Area. The monarch reminded that the Real Properties Protection Law 2016 allows for land grabbers to be jailed for up to 15 years.
