Algeria: Pope Leon XIV begins his African tour

Pope Leon XIV arrived in Algeria for his first visit to the country, aiming to promote coexistence between Christians and Muslims and to pay tribute to Saint Augustine. This two-day stop marks the beginning of an 11-day tour through Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea. Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune welcomed the pope upon his arrival, while Leon XIV responded to President Trump's criticisms regarding his calls for peace.
