Amnesty Calls for Probe Into Ol Kalou Election Offences

Amnesty International Kenya has demanded urgent investigations into election offences threatening the credibility of the Ol Kalou by-election scheduled for July 16. The organization calls on IEBC, ODPP, and EACC to act against vote buying, distribution of mattresses and gas cylinders, and violence among supporters. The attack on a Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) campaign truck in Gilgil on July 11 is cited as an example of escalating violence. Amnesty decries a systematic assault on the constitutional right to free and fair elections.
