Anambra doubles down on unsafe construction sites, demolishes collapsed building near Onitsha

The Anambra State Government demolished a three-storey building under construction that collapsed on May 18 in Umuoji, near Onitsha. No casualties were reported. Commissioner for Physical Planning, Barr. Chijioke Ojukwu, stated that substandard materials and poor construction practices were to blame. The project violated several regulations, including lack of permits and non-compliance with setback requirements.
