Impact of the African Comic and Other Music Salon (SABDAM) in Kinshasa

Kinshasa was recognized as the African capital of comics during the 7th edition of the African Comic and Other Music Salon (SABDAM), taking place from September 10 to 13, 2026. Barly Baruti, the event's initiator, emphasized that this recognition could lead to political, social, and economic benefits, positioning comics as a true soft power. In the 'Parole aux auditeurs' program, Baruti and Robert Suraki discussed diplomatic and cultural opportunities to promote cultural industries in the DRC.
