APC cancels zoning of guber seat to Abia Central Zone

The Abia State chapter of the APC announced the cancellation of the zoning of the governorship position to the Abia Central senatorial zone for the 2027 general election. This decision faced controversy, with gubernatorial aspirants like Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu condemning it. In response to the concerns raised, state publicity secretary Chief Uche Aguoru stated that the national leadership of the party had directed the cancellation of all zoning arrangements issued by the State Working Committee.
