China: An Old Steel Factory Transformed into a Futuristic Park

The former Shougang steel site in Beijing has been transformed into an urban park that combines industrial heritage, sports, culture, commerce, and technology. Established in 1919, the site ceased production in 2010 and was repurposed to host events like the 2022 Winter Olympics. Industrial infrastructures have been preserved and repurposed, including a space dedicated to science fiction and facilities for the China International Fair for Trade in Services. The park also hosts businesses and activities related to emerging technologies.
