Aristide Mono Calls on Revival Churches to 'Leave Bars Alone'

Politician Aristide Mono responded to religious leaders who compared bars to revival churches, arguing that bars should not be dragged into the debate. On social media, he wrote: 'Leave bars alone. When they have problems with the state closing them, they don't mention revival churches.' His comments come amid a wave of closures of clandestine churches in Cameroon, especially after the Nkoldongo tragedy in Yaoundé where a seven-year-old girl was killed by a church follower acting on a prophecy. Mono stressed that each sector must answer for its own actions without diverting attention.
