Armed groups launch co-ordinated attacks across Mali

Explosions and gunfire have been reported in Bamako as armed groups launched coordinated attacks across Mali. The Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) and the jihadist group Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) conducted simultaneous offensives, primarily in northern Mali. The FLA spokesman stated that the operation was well-planned and that they had taken control of Kidal, while fighting continues in Gao and other cities.
