Ethiopian police arrest suspected trafficking gang ringleader

Ethiopian police have arrested Yetbarek Dawit, accused of being at the center of an international human trafficking network since 2018, luring thousands to Libya. He is suspected of operating five detention warehouses in Libya, where migrants were allegedly tortured to extort money from their families. The arrests, which include nine accomplices, resulted from a complex investigation involving the Regional Operational Centre funded by the European Union.
