Arrests, intimidation won't stop us — Ajaero

Joe Ajaero, president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, declared that arrests and intimidation will not stop the labour movement's struggle for workers' rights. He spoke in Oslo while receiving the 2026 Arthur Svensson International Award, accusing the Nigerian government of using fear, arrests, and surveillance to suppress organized labour. Ajaero recounted years of persecution, including detention and charges of terrorism and treason, and vowed to continue until Nigerian workers are free from oppression and poverty.
