Assembly: Bureau meeting postponed again, towards opening of an extraordinary session

The Bureau meeting of the National Assembly of Senegal, initially scheduled for July 10, 2026, has been postponed multiple times. Assembly President Ousmane Sonko arrived late on July 14 and justified the new postponement to July 17 as a mistake by the secretary general. Several draft laws are pending, including the agro-sylvo-pastoral and fisheries orientation bill and the bill amending the Code of Criminal Procedure.
