Al-Shabaab Attacks Police Camp in Mandera, No Casualties Reported

On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Al-Shabaab militants attacked the Jabi Quick Response Unit (QRU) Camp in Lafey Sub-County, Mandera. About 10 heavily armed assailants opened fire from 600 meters away, but security forces retaliated and repelled them. No casualties were reported. The attack comes less than a week after a deadly cross-border raid on June 8 in Elgolicha, where two people, including Abdo Ali Gole (82) and Ibrahim Issack, were killed.
