At least 30 dead in stampede at Haiti’s historic Citadelle Laferriere

At least 30 people have been killed in a stampede at the Citadelle Laferriere, a historic site in Haiti, during an annual celebration. Jean Henri Petit, head of Civil Protection for Haiti’s Nord Department, stated that the incident occurred at the entrance of the site, worsened by rain. Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aime extended condolences to the bereaved families, noting that many young people were in attendance at the event.
