No Nigerian Killed in South Africa protests, two deaths unrelated to unrest - FG

The Nigerian federal government stated that no Nigerian was killed and no Nigerian-owned property was destroyed during recent anti-foreigner protests in South Africa. Two Nigerians died in separate incidents, one after an encounter with soldiers and another following a confrontation with metro police. The Minister of Foreign Affairs warned that further protests are expected between May 4 and 8, 2026.
