With "zero" customs duty, China opens its doors to Africa

As of May 1, China has eliminated all customs duties on products from 53 African countries for a period of two years, with the exception of Eswatini. This measure expands an exemption already granted to 33 African countries and aims to strengthen trade, which reached a record $300 billion in 2025. Beijing seeks to cultivate a rapidly growing market while increasing its influence on the continent.
