Lubero: Armed men in Mwenye reignite fear in the community

Residents of Mwenye, in the Baswagha chiefdom of Lubero territory, fear renewed insecurity after armed men believed to be ADF rebels passed through during the night of October 29–30, 2026. According to the local youth council, the group reportedly came from Losse and headed toward Kiregha, but its final destination and intentions remain unknown. Council president Prince Kasyano urged residents to report suspicious movements and called for a permanent military post at Mausa. Several residents have already left their homes, fearing further violence.
