Benin: A man in his 50s found dead inside IITA in Abomey-Calavi

A man in his 50s was found dead on June 16, 2026, inside the compound of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Abomey-Calavi. The victim, known to employees, regularly came to cut grass for his goats. He collapsed as he was about to leave and lay on the ground in the rain for hours before his death was discovered. The Republican Police have opened an investigation to determine the cause of death.
