Benin: Two young people killed by lightning in Nikki

Two young people were killed by lightning on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in the village of Daroukpara, Suya district, Nikki commune in Benin, during a severe thunderstorm. They were returning home when struck and died on the spot. Local authorities, the Republican Police, and health workers arrived at the scene. The bodies were handed over to their families for burial.
