Benin: a man arrested with 840,000 FCFA in counterfeit banknotes – La Nouvelle Tribune

A man suspected of possessing and using counterfeit banknotes was arrested and placed under a committal order on July 14, 2026, by the Court of First Instance of Parakou. Investigators seized 84 fake 10,000 FCFA notes, with a face value of 840,000 FCFA, including 81 found in Nikki and 3 on the suspect during his arrest in Tchikandou.
