Benin's Supreme Court annulled on June 8, 2026 the decision of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (ARMP) that had excluded Laurent Dhossou Zomaï from public procurement for five years, ruling that the authority failed to respect the legal seven-day deadline for self-referral. Zomaï, appointed prefect of Zou on June 3, saw his assumption of office blocked by this sanction. The removal of the legal obstacle now allows the handover ceremony at the Abomey prefecture to be scheduled.
