Benue begins training of marine marshals to strengthen security in riverine areas

The Benue State Government has begun training Marine Marshals to combat insecurity in riverine areas. The initiative follows growing concerns about attacks by armed herders and criminals using waterways. Governor Hyacinth Alia has purchased boats for patrolling major waterways. Youths from the most affected areas are being trained in surveillance and enforcement.
