Benue: Fulani sent me video - VDM alleges reason for fresh attack

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), claims that some Fulani people sent him a video clip that likely triggered the deadly attack on July 12, 2026, in Otukpo, Benue State. The attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen killed at least 50 people and injured several others in Akpachi village and the Otukpo-Nobi community. According to VDM, the attack was a reprisal for the murder of MACBAN chairman Alhaji Ardo Mohammed on June 26, 2026. The video allegedly shows an Idoma social media influencer celebrating the release of suspects arrested in connection with Mohammed's killing.
