BEPC 2026 in Benin: 130,253 candidates take exams from Monday, June 8 – La Nouvelle Tribune

130,253 candidates sit for the Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC) starting Monday, June 8, 2026 in Benin, across 224 centers. Gender parity is nearly achieved with 65,936 boys and 64,317 girls. Sixty-one persons with disabilities are participating. Minister Clément Kouchadé and the President of the Republic delivered messages of encouragement.

KURA Announces Partial Closure of Kenyatta Avenue, Valley Road & Jakaya Kikwete Road

The Kenya Urban Road Authority (KURA) announced partial closures of Kenyatta Avenue, Valley Road, and Jakaya Kikwete Road from June 12, 2026 to February 12, 2027 for bridge construction. The League of Imams and Alfas in Yorubaland issued an official statement clarifying that it does not support any organization or individual whose teachings promote division, hatred, extremism, or any ideology contrary to the Qur'an and Sunnah. It warned that certain groups falsely claim affiliation with the League, and reaffirmed its aim to promote Islamic unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria. The statement was signed by several chief imams and representatives, including President Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere.
