Bignona: A network of theft and resale of pepper dismantled, eight suspects arrested, 5 million FCFA at stake

The Bignona district police dismantled an organized network involved in the theft and resale of pepper, arresting eight individuals. The theft of 39 bags of pepper, valued at over 5 million FCFA, occurred on the night of April 4-5, 2026. Investigators recovered part of the merchandise and identified suspects through evidence. The alleged mastermind confessed that the theft was carried out in several stages, and four merchants were arrested for purchasing the products without invoices.
