Yaoundé Heart of the City: AFD Releases 2nd Tranche of 12 Billion FCFA to Continue Works

The French Development Agency (AFD) has released a second tranche of funding amounting to 12 billion FCFA for the Yaoundé Heart of the City project, announced by Mayor Luc Messi Atangana on April 28, 2026. This funding brings the total amount to 21.1 billion FCFA, aimed at improving urban mobility in the Cameroonian capital. The works, launched on June 11, 2025, are starting to show visible effects in several critical areas of the city.
